Guidon Blue is a story about dogface soldiers written by a dogface soldier, who fought in the Italian Campaign of World War II.

Not much has been written about the Italian Campaign nor the impact that the Normandy Invasion had by pulling troops and equipment away from the men left behind to continue the fight.

Maurice D. Kellogg was a gifted writer who offers a unique perspective on the life and death of dogface soldiers.

Long after his own death, the family found a yellowing manuscript that he had put aside in the early 1960s and decided to publish it as a legacy for the very young to learn from those known as dogface soldiers.
